Thom and I went out Saturday to check out a canyon he had been wanting to get into for some time..... the weather was perfect for us to head out for a little cruise;

The views were awesome;

Powerline srvice road on the other side of the canyon;

Here's a road we were gonna try to get down into the canyon



We went down this road about 100 yards and it got pretty steep just in time to turn sideways for a nasty sidehill...... we hiked down it a ways to find a 2nd sidehill that was just as steep, prolly over 45° or more....... we opted out of this since we didnt wanna roll just getting to the canyon....... Or have to do it again coming back up if it was a dead end.......

We stopped at a rock outcropping on the way out to check out the view;

We opted to try another road that would get us down to the elevation of the bottome of the canton but the lower we got the furhter away from the canyon we got so it wasn't gonna happen......


We ended up at this abandon cowboy cabin for lunch;

After hangin out at the cabin for a while we cruised around to find some rocks to play on before Thom had a seizure or something and we found this slab that looked fun but had no sane way to get back down;

Enter new suck down winch;




I didnt try real had as there was no way to com back down that I was comfortable with so I backed down and turned around;

Thom came around to exit where I did and we thought he was gonna give Pete a closeup of the rock;

From here we just back tracked back to the highway on an annoying 2 track that was scenic and had some good hill climbs but the rest was rutted and rocky enough to drive us crazy. We got back near the highway to air up and noticed that Pete, who did a great job impersonating Donna all day with all his phone calls and screamin at Thom about his driving, even helped Thom air up..... though we think he let more out then he got in.......





Was a fun trip even though we got denied this canyon.....but there are more for us to check out in the future

Cooll right up man. It's about getting out and exploring. Opening up new runs is awesome. Gotta test a few to find a great one. Thanks for exploring guys.
