The goal is to create a platform big enough to set my 7'x7' tent.
So tonight I bought some plywood and made 2 wood covers / platforms.
One will secure to the trailer and the other will fasten to that (fold open) but also hinged on the trailer too so I can still have access inside.

So tonight the wood was cut & secured & tomorrow Ill try and make some kind of legs to support the fold open part.
Here's some quick pictures of tonight's work

Do you still have that, or did you end up selling it?

sold it for $700 awhile back. I had it sitting for 2 years and never even bought a pintle hook so I could to with it :-/

Sealing the wood tonight & hope to get everything all loaded up & ready for the hunt this weekend!

how are you securing the tent to the platform?

are those legs adjustable for height? might want to add that in for uneven ground?

Sick Paul, completely awesome

Tent will be secured with 1" wood screws

2 on each corner and 1 on all the other tie downs.
I only made the support to match the trailer as I typically park & level it at the kick stand / support leg up front.

Thompson's water sealed the top where the tent will set

Also made a small door so if I need to get into the inside of the trailer I can un-do one end of the tent to gain access.
Again this is just a quick ugly project to keep me off the cold ground!

Actually yes.
With the snow it was COLD! but last year with me & the boys we slept on the ground and all of us noticed the air mattresses didnt provide much insulation between us & the ground.
Being up & I sleep on the trailer portion I think helps insulate 1/2 the tent from the cold damp ground.
With all the rain & snow Im glad I went ahead and used the water sealer to treat the wood, its not 100% practical there's quite a bit of set up / take down (requires a screw gun & a wrench) And its a bit of a pain to hop in - out of (used an ice chest to help get my feet up on the deck to avoid kneeling in the water / snow)
But I'm happy with it! there were some gnarly gust of wind that shook the tent - trailer but everything stayed upright.
