Moose Needs a New Home
#1
Circumstances have changed and we no longer will be able to keep Moose. We picked him up 7 months ago from an organization that rescues animals abandoned at foreclosed homes. He's a very loving and affectionate 3 year old Rottweiler-Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who is chipped, neutered, potty trained, and gets along very well with cats, dogs, women and children. He has some trust issues with men but after 2 or 3 visits he warms up to a new dude. He also knows a variety of commands (sit, stay, come, lets go, go lay down, go to bed, outside, no, stop/stop it ). He also knows "friend" a command with which he'll shake your hand, and "put em up" *throw your hands up like a boxer* to which he'll put his paws on your shoulder/chest.

Now the problems. It seems he's still not been able to work through his anxiety issues and whenever left alone, even with other pets and objects to keep him busy, he likes to whimper/whine and to steal things to be taken out back and chewed to bits. He prefers Gatorade bottles and Tupperware (a habit he did not have when we first brought him home). He's also acquired the new skill of digging. On the leash he's not a puller, but tends to creep ahead of you so he constantly needs to be reminded of the fact he should be at your side. At times he does not mind commands very well and when he does mind he tends to instantly forget what you just said and wander off.

He'd be a great dog for someone with the time and ability to give him the proper training/exercise. If you would like to bring him home or know someone who can give him his so called "forever home" please let me know!
