Hi there,

I hope I'm in the right place. I bought my 2002 Jeep wrangler Sport (3'' lift and lockers) about 2 month's ago.. Its had a few issues that I had fixed. I took it in and the shop told me it was the transfercase ($1400.00 rebuild).. When I put it in reverse It has a loud Clunk noise and looks like my Jeep has Hydraulics (the whole Jeep slams down) Sometimes its worse than others. Also, when Im driving and I take my foot off the gas it pulls preety hard, When I resume the gas it pulls again.. The shop said the play in my driveline is about 70% transfercase and 30% my rear axle... .Does this sound right? This is my only ride and I wont go on the freeway with my kids because its not to safe with the pull at a high rate of speed (worse the faster im going) Go easy on me as I am a newby Thank you for all your advise...

Hi and welcome to this club if you have some time i have a friend that has a shop but it is in Prescott but he speacializes in jeeps and is very reasonably priced it sounds like to me your front end pulling on you is in the alignment and your other problems are considerably bases in your drivelines could be the transfer case but sounds like slip yoke eliminators (if you have one on there) but it also sounds like the carrier baring in the cv joint those would be the cheapest things to look at first....if you want this friends shop number pm me and i will give it to you....T.C.
