Are the TRAC bar's needed on a 95 Wrangler
#1
Im working on a 95 Wrangler. The rear trac bar mount is cracked and is not worth a crap.
I can reweld it and reinforce it. Or is it not really needed? Any help would be great.
thanks

No clue. I have never had a YJ. I would post this on azvjc also there are a few more YJ owners there. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I would think you would need a panhard or anti-axle wrap bars at least?
Seems like it'd put a lot of stress on those leaf U-bolts.

But then again I'm no expert on leafs but don't have either bars on the Xterra rear end

From my understanding they are very necessary. I would weld it up and keep it. Just my thought!

Leaf springs. I removed the sway bar from the rear on my XJ. I'd think you need to leave track bars in place if they are there. The TJ has a track bar because of the coil springs, but I didn't know leaf springs needed one.

can you post a pic? A YJ would not have a trackbar, but would have a swaybar.
Trackbar is a must have to locate the axle, but are not used with leaf springs.
Rear swaybar is personal preference. If you have soft springs and sit tall you probably want it. Most of us XJ guys don't run them.

I welded it and the customer was very happy. The only thing I could come up with, for having a trac bar was it has very small shackles and they are not connected in the middle. This jeep has one on the front also. This is the first time I have ever seen one on enything with leaf springs. The jeep has a 4" SUPERLIFT kit and the trac bar extension had broken all the way off. It's all better now.

Thanks for all the input.
