2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off - March 5th
#1
Its getting close to that time again. Lets get a date set for our 2nd annual BBQ and Chili Cook Off

Ramada 7 from 1 - 5pm

Ill try and get use the bigger ramadas this year, it should make it more comfortable for everyone and there is electricity and grills to use. What date works for everyone?

Rio Vista park off tbird and the 101. Lakes, playgrounds, bbq areas, batting cages and volleyball courts

Official Cook Off Rules

1. Arrive in a Jeep, the bigger the better. If you don't have one borrow one. You may substitute an XJ if it is the size of a small house, get 3-7 miles to the gallon and has at least 2 dents. If you must drive something else prepare to be ridiculed, humiliated and made fun of in every way possible.

2. Ice chests. The more and the bigger the better. These should be filled with a tasty beverage and ice and no more than 4-5 water bottles and these should be laced with sugar

3. Food. Chips and anything that contains trans-fats, lots of sodium and causes obesity. Higher Ground will be grilling hotdogs as well.

4. Chili - Any type is acceptable as long as it contains beans and meat. You can throw in other ingredients if youd like. You need to bring enough for at least 5 people and have some left over to fill a small bowl at the judging table. Prizes will be awarded for the top 2 chili's

It's also important to know what to wear. Dress for comfort. Blue jeans are always acceptable and, in warm weather, shorts. Sandals, sneakers or hiking boots work for footwear. Or you can go barefoot. A ball cap with some sort of logo is also acceptable. The logo should be for a beer brand, Jeep related or a football team (high school or professional). T shirts of any type with any logo or picture on front works. All shirts should have sleeves of some sort or someone might mistake you for a redneck and they won't share their beer and pig skins (the hot kind) which could be hazardous in case of a beer or food emergency. And that's how fights get started.

For women it's the same as above but tighter and shorter.

And don't discuss politics. You might get a hold of a Obamocrat and they're kinda touchy these days.

Most importantly eat as much chili as you are able and have as much fun as possible.

Chilie will be judged by a 3 person panel

The best tastin chili will be awarded a $40 gift certificate to Cabellas

Why is there a spatula in the logo on the main page? Is this chili not what I might be used to seeing?

Chris's Chili is really thick.
Plus, for outsiders it's better marketed as a inclusive BBQ instead of a chili requirement. Like the main page graphic
