New Years Snow Wheelin — Higher Ground 4x4

Cristina and I arrived in Payson Friday afternoon about noon to 23°, snow falling and about 6" on the ground...... we got to the cabin, unloaded, turned the heat on, Cristina loves her heat and proceded to head up on the Rim to check out the deep stuff......

We got to a road that we wanted to check out, the gate was open but there was no place to pull out to lock in the hubs so we continued on the jhigheay until we could find a pull out to lock in..... we then headed back to the road we desired and tried to enter....... Ooops, no luck the plows built a berm up to about 4' tall and the truck just plowed it and sank...... 3½' of snow and 15 PSI in the tires dont agree with each other.

I wasn't likin this set up so I decided to air down to 8;

While i was airing down a family in a Nissan frontiere came in behind me and made it about 10 feet and were stuck so after I aired down and was able to see that I could get around alot better I went to pull them out before proceding down the raod of fresh powder;

After pulling out the Nissan, we went back down the road and Cristina braved the elements to take a video of me snow wheelin NASCAR style;

Now aired down, we then went back to the first road (berm) and tried agai at getting onto that road....... we made it on and a ¼ mile in there was an intersection;

We went straight first and went about 100 yards, 25 yards ata time and decided to try the other road. After a 100 yards of beating that way, we opted to call it a day. we were after all by ourselves.

We then went to the cabin to settle in with some adult refreshments (they stay quite cold in th cooler when it's this cold out at 6:00 PM);

I was BBQing our dinner;

Nothin like a beer-slushy.

Saturday we woke to 0°. I managed to get Cristina out from under the covers and into the Toyota that had been running for a half an hour and on to breakfast. We learned that TC and Donna had no electricity, heat or water at home so they declined the run for the day, CLiff had charging issues with the tow rig and dodnt want to chance it so he headed back down the hill, Nate, 3 days out of Chemo, showed up with Darren and Chad from the HigherGround Forum showed as well in his built 3rd gen Dodge on 37's, tons and ARB's.......The 3 of us decided a short trip was necessary for Nates health and our own frozen pipes that we need to attend to in the heat of the day.......If you can call it that. Here's the view from where Nate unloaded from his trailer;
