snorkel question
#1
I am getting my snorkel put on this week on my TJ. My question is am I going to have to remove my side mirror relocation bracket on the windshield?
Thanks

If your's in an '03, then most likey the answer will be yes.

If you've got the standard relocation bracket like Jared, it probably looks like this:

And since they changed the mirrors a slight bit for the 03's and up they stick out a lot farther, it's not going to happen. The snorkel sits flush right up against the side of the body and hinges.

So close in fact, that when you take your doors on and off, you'll have to loosen the two bolts that secure the snorkle to the windshield frame.

The only other option I could think of if you absolutely had to run the mirror on that side (our guys just tke them off with the doors), you could get the kind that you insert through your empty door hinge.

BTW:
Sorry, I just saw part of the snorkel instal page was broken. Make sure you check out the part I added where we installed a snork in Jared's '03. There was an extra cutting step that wasn't mentioned:

Good luck, let me know if you had any other Q's
And upload some pics when your done :)

Ok, my sis says your Jeep isn't an '03 so disregard all that. Anyway, same theory though: Not enough room for the typical brackets. You'll either have to one mirror it (which looks a little odd), no mirror it, or get a different style and modify it.

Thanks or the info. I thought I might have to put the mirrors back on the doors and take the bracket off to make room for the snorkel. Buy the way I never got a chance to post up an image. So here it is hope everyone likes. Please understand I share my fun money with my TJ and other car.

Thanks again for the help!

No it looks good! A little too clean maybe. Nice black rims though!

We're all pretty stretched when it comes to funding our Jeep stuff, too. It all finally adds up though.

We have a trail run coming up. This one may be a little too tough for your Jeep (it may turn out being too tough for some of ours). But our next trip we'd love to have you come along. It should be an all inclusive-type thing, yet still offer some challenges. We'll probably have a few different Jeeps out with us. If it sounds interesting to you, we'd love to keep you in the loop and let ya know the details when it gets closer to that date. Until then, good luck with your installs and we'll be looking for you on the road. (we happen to live in Glendale, too)

well well well.

Good job. Glad we could help.

Where's your Warn front bumper? Got it on yet?

Now go find some water! (after your extend your hoses of course).
The Verde's a great place to hit river crossings. Hopefully the FR42 won't stay closed indefinitely.

J before snorkle. Keep in mind, he was still technically floating and spinning his wheels when I wettly took the pic :)

bumper coming in a couple weeks and I still have to install the warn steering box skid. Thanks again for the help about the snorkel.
