Thoughts about this past weekend up North? Aug 12-13 2006

Thought it went swell. Lots of different terrain and things to do.
It was fun to take it easy and just play the "come-what-may" trip game.
Had the camping, the rain, offroad in the rocks, dirt, water, and mud, and caving, all in areas where not another sole was present and no sign of their venture was left behind. Maybe, once I get the pics out to everyone, we can each post our favorite(s) of the trip here. I'll do a report later on I reckon, but talk amongst yourselves here for now.

I like Dana's pic here, b/c it seems to capture the whole trip in a nutshell.

What a great picture! I loooooved the mud. So many people are commenting on it..... Asking where I went to find that mud and asking if I had fun. It's great. It looks funny when I get out of my dirty, dirty Jeep and I am wearing my work clothes. Kinda a misfit. Thanks Mike for all the planning, yet again! I loved it and was glad we had our two other peeps with us and his cute doggies.

sounds like you had a good time

any caves worth exploring more?

It was a great trip, I wish I did not have my cast on so I could explore the cave a little more. I guess that just gives us another reason to go back. Great job planning Mike cant wait to see where you take us next.

Here is my favorite pic just becuse it was so fun doing it.

That was you under there? :D
I thought maybe that's where Chris has been hiding.

We'd better go to the replay:

Looks like someone dropped a Jeep sized rock into a pond or something.
"By the way, that doesn't smell like mud chucko."

I like this picture 'cause it's a huuuuuge rock. The ground was super soft and I didn't have faith I could do it. Wohoooo! Look at that flex!

Kinda partial to this pic too. Didn't know it was a double rainbow 'till I saw the pic on the comp screen.

I got a few little mistakes. I wrote them down for you at home though. The report looks great.... as always. Thanks for always doing the writeups! We Jeepers appreciate it.

Well the mud is finally off the two trip Jeeps after a casino-like flood of quarters into the high pressure car wash and then several girl hours with rag and bucket at home.

Before we got rid of all of it, we decided to donate some of the mud as a gift to an old friend.
We figured the poor thing, collecting only driveway dust for a solid year now, needed to be reminded of life off the pavement.

One day out of respect, maybe we'll tow it out to the woods with the rocks, trees, and all the woodland creatures and...

"...but tell now how it's gonna be.
We're gonna get a little place.
OK. Yeah. We're gonna get a little place and we're gonna...
- We're gonna... - ..have...
We're gonna have a cow, and some pigs, and we're gonna have maybe a chicken.
- Down in the flat, we'll have a... - Field of alfalfa for the rabbits.
- For the rabbits... - And I get to tend the rabbits."

has this guy been beenfound yet?? i think i have spotted him on some streets and parking lots but not on any trails.:'(

Dude! I wheeled with this guy once. Seriously. He was almost past the gas pump at a Chevron when he had some carnage that put him out, but man, he wheels parking lots stronger than anyone I've ever seen.

Legend.

Legend I say.

i hear he still roams the streets or at least his ghost or pregnant wife. every once in a while you see the green machine appear and then in a blink he is gone again. one of the mighty ghost stories of arizona.

i think skatch has documented the stories of this guy over the years
