i have invested in 35" tires for the jeep and i needed to modify the spare tire carrier since my 33's barely fit. i was thinking of investing into an extention to bolt onto the exsisting mount. depending on where you go it could run $75+. after throwing the idea around daniel and mike i used some of their suggestions and did it myself. the whole project took me about 30mins to do and most of that time was a trip to ace to get a couple 2" long bolts.

parts to do this project-

2 1 1/2 spacers (from my lift kit that i did not need, hummmmm that is the reason i kept those spare parts around)
2 2" bolts
2 washers
a little muscle to bend the carrier out.
