Turkey Creek 9-25-10

Turkey Creek - Saturday September 25th

Meet Time: 6:30am
Meet Place: Carefree and I-17 Chevron

Trail Rating: 3.0

Trail Restrictions:
Some lift, some skills
No locker requirement

Trail Description:
The Turkey Creek Trail runs up the Black Canyon from Bumble Bee to Cleator.
The trail at takes you up through the wash, working its way in and out of the creek. There are rocky areas to play on along the way. If the river is running, you'll want to make sure you have a winch along, as there are boulders and quick sand hiding, waiting to bite a Jeep.

Overall, with a small group of Jeeps, this trail can be done between 4 - 6 hours depending on how much site seeing you do. If it is really wet, it can take longer.

Out..... I'll be, well you know...... ;)

Great trail with views of BTG buggy trails in the first half, an active mining ranch midway, and the booming town of Cleator at the end.......... 10 miles of trail. Nice loop for those with trailers too.

For the trail? I don't think you'd be able to handle it...you know, with the whole 4wd, long bed deal it's got goin' on.

Meet times and trippee list updated.

I'd like the GC to have a little extra clearance Dan. I have not run this trail so I can't be certain.
Our list isn't too big yet so a couple invites would not be a problem.

There will be water/sand/mud in the creek crossings, but with no rain, it should be minimal.
