been awhile

Wow, its been awhile. Just realized that I havent had the jeep out on a trail since last July!

Well heres what happened. Ive been wanting a new rear axle for awhile, finally found a good deal on one and had it shipped out. Michael and me put swapped out the 35 with the new 44. Install was pretty straight forward, unbolt this, watch friend do work, hand friend wrench and so on

We finished the swap and backed it into the street for a test drive, everything worked great in 2wd... We tried to put it into 4hi and the atlas wouldnt shift. After some research we realized the gears were different in the front and rear axle. I always assumed that I had 3.73 gears in the front and rear. Turns out I had 3.07. Now my front axle is geared at 3.07 and the rear at 3.73. No way to get it into 4wheel drive

Sounds like an easy fix, just take it to the shop and swap in some gears. Well, the last year has been pretty busy for me. Got engaged last July and married in march. Now its almost July again and life has calmed down enough so I can start working on the jeep again. Well sorta

Im leaving again July 4th for a 12 day missions trip to Thailand. Should be back on the 16th

Hopefully when I get back we can get the Jeep going again

First thing on the list is new gears. Maybe 4.56?

Other future mods
Learn to weld and buy a welder
Full cage, maybe the PS one?
Heavy duty tierod
Been thinking about the U-turn steering system
Clayton long arm lift, want to go higher, 5"?
New tires 35"?
New front bumper
Winch
Locker and new axle shafts
Start working on m101 trailer

Sounds like the next year will be pretty busy!

Chris I hate to say this but....., never mind. I hope we do get back to working on your Jeep. All that other stuff sounds great but lets just concentrate on getting her to run in 4 wheel again.

Then I would start the modification upgrade. We have missed you out on the trail and this weekend we will not have the pleasure of you yelling at Mike for getting you stuck because he didnt give you a good spot.

I hope you are having a great time in Thiland and cant wait to hear about your trip when you return.

God Bless

Good news! Starting october 1st my other house will be rented out, this lady wants to sign a 14 month lease! That will save me about $1200 a month.

I have also sold some stock and have enough cash to buy a new door and gears for the jeep :D hehe wont freeze this winter again!

I need to find a shop to do the install for the gears, Jeff was telling me about a guy but I can't remember who it was. Anyone remember?
