Everyone complains that illegals dont pay taxes because they get paid in cash or use fake ID's

Looking at my pay stub I see the following
AZ state
Fed inc
Fica-oasdi
Fica-med

Here in the state we cant control the federal taxes so lets ignore those. We can control the AZ state income tax. The state income tax helps pay for our schools, fire/police and other state services.

Why dont we get rid of the state income tax (which illegals dont pay) and add on a sales tax instead? That way anyone who is here will be paying towards our services. Regardless of citizenship

Would that hurt out of state sales?

Yah I thought about that, but for large exports I think the legislature could right tax breaks into the law. If its just a tourist or one off buy then they should pay the full rate
