Bell Trail / Wet Beaver Creek 6-19-10
#1
Well the heat is upon us!
So its time to go for a swim!
Saturday June 19th 05:30 (5:30am) depart time Chevron I-17 & Carefree Hwy.
A drive up the I-17 to Sedona exit then east to the trail head.
Trail is 3.5 miles ONE way, As for kids... if your willing to carry them 7miles go for it if they can do it on there own power then all the better!
Yes I know this is Fathers Day weekend but what better way to kick it off?
The hike is not that bad (yes easier that manping) and theres a water hole we can jump in and swim around in!
The boys & I did this Last Year
If we leave around 5:30 am we should be there no later than 8 roughly 1.5-2hr to the water then we swim, Jump. Pack a lunch to eat while there!!
WATER start drinking it on Friday!! if you have a way to purify the water then feel free to re-fill at the creek. IF not then, a camelpack & extra water should do you just fine, Remember rough total of 7miles.
Depending on how long we stay & swim Id guess we could be home between 6-7ish (west siders)

So post up if you want to go!!

yeah figure 7 miles round trip... you'd have to probably carry them 6.9 of those miles.
One day man! they'll be old enough for it!

I'm officially in. Only issue is that I'll need to hitch a ride up there. I assume there'll be a meeting place?

Gotta see about a birthday party first. Then I'll know.

Im talking some up & down hill stuff but nothing like the decent / ascend you seen 1st hand at mamping (think that was 700-900 in elevation?) Id say no more than 400 in elevation change on this hike

Sounds good! I'm clear to drive up there so a ride is no longer needed!

As far as hydration it's not a bad idea to drink some Pedialyte. 1-2 gallons Friday! No soda, sugary or caffeinated drinks. I know, life is horrible.
