Rusty Nail is a trail that the HCR hadn't done before so we had no idea what we were in for except what we had seen in pics and vids of others....... Of course pics and vids NEVER do a trail or obstacle any justice so we were going to go have alook for ourselves....... the trail started off relatively mellow but we soon could see accross the reavine another group in front of us that was working on the first obstacle known as Riff Raff...... to keep the Riff Raff off the trail. it is a 2 part obstacle where the first part does have a bypass but the second part even with multiple ways to attempt is not that easy by any means. Throw in the usual Moab Pucker factor of potential for multiple rolls if you go over and it really makes things interesting;

Here we're lined up for the 2nd part of Riff Raff...... behind Dans Jeep is a 50 foot drop off to add to the excitement;

We spent a great deal of time here so everyone else tried minimally except for Scooby who after getting his axle bearing and seal fixed caught up with us and made it up both obstacles on Riff Raff.

Shortly after Riff Raff is what they call "No left turn" we now understand why;

Not much weight on that tire;

Next there was a series of down stairsteps that you have to drop one tire at a time and lean drivers side down starring down a 300 foor drop off....

The Wheelie king wanted to keep them all on the ground here;

Chuck was trying to make things interesting;

After everyone cleaned their drawers and got their seat covers out of their cracks we headed up the reast of the trail which was smooth slick rock with some stairsteps to climbs. It was getting late so we kept moving up to Golden Spike;


No carnage to report here cept for some stained seats........

We reached Golden Spike and the Golden Crack was a ¼ mile out of the way so we went over to play on it a bit;
