Ran with with the Offroad Passport group (Number 7 & Dzjeepchick) on what is known as "The Devils Highway" roughly 120 miles of dirt, lave rock, moon dust & no shortage of wash board! from Yuma to Ajo along the AZ-Mexico border.
Had a great time with some great people... Now some pic's

Cool pics Paul. Looks like fun!

nice, did you camp out over night? run into any crossers?

cool lines and colors on that door shot
#6
Yeah we camped Fri, Sat & Sun night, no shortage of border patrol.
The only evidence we saw was
a wash that had ALOT of foot traffic thru it.

Love the green door pic!

Should add

to the camp pic thread: http://www.higherground4x4.com/forums/showthread.php?372-Some-of-the-places-we-ve-camped&highlight=camped

Can a mod. please change the thread title? Should be "camino", not "camilo".

Pic added to "Places We've Camped".

For some reason I really like the one with the rock cross on the ground. I was running last tailgunning and everyone else blew past that and didn't even see it. I stopped and snapped a few cool pictures of it.

Windmills in the desert are always awesome. I think we saw 5-6 total on the trip.

Terrain was anything from easy graded roads, to sand, to lava rock. It's a very interesting and desolate area of the state.

Stay tuned to the Up and Coming section. I'm bouncing around the idea of heading back down there this fall when things cool off. October/November maybe. It will probably be over a 2 day weekend and a little faster paced. There are numerous areas down there we didn't even get close to and a few additional trails I'd like to explore.

#16
whatd you do for water and food? Haul it all with you?
#17
Yep, I packed approximately 20 gallons on the roof rack. See picture. Ended up dumping 2 containers on the last day, but I'd rather get stranded with too much water than not enough. We packed light on food. Hot dogs and chips. PB&J for lunch. Definately was loaded down, but made it work.

2 cases of bottle water & two 7gal jugs. Dinners were the dehydrated bag dinner, and bagel sandwiches at lunch.
Could of done this with out the trailer but I offered to haul wood :)g)
Gas was my main concern as we had a detour on Friday night and burnt up around 20miles of fuel (plus the added weight of the pulling the trailer) I did bring extra & ended up using it when we stopped for lunch on Monday, I probably could of made the last 10 miles to Ajo but didnt want to take the chance of running the injectors dry.
