Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure :) Had a long day, didn't even get started till 1130, arrived in crownking around 6:30 or so I think. I had some over heating problems, broke one shock completely off and on the way from crown king I blew my other one up... lol The black XJ broke a brake line in half and an axle.. and I think that was it? Russ? am I forgetting something? seems like there was more... We had another little episode I'll let Russ tell ya about.. he got to run a couple spares 3 miles back down the trail... :eyeroll:
Other then it being a long day, It was a great time, awesome trail and I learned two things,
1: Do not stand being a jeep and push, your foot may slip, and a boulder the size of 8 baseballs may fly out from under a tire and hit you in the shin...
2: Do not take a semi-stock 93 Chevy truck on that trail, you will have to build ramps and give it a few tugs. lol
Only picture of my jeep the entire day :(

altercation

and our chevy boat anchor that has to have an lots of bumbs and bruises underneath
a late start- guys will say it is the girls fault
i think that covers most of it.
all in all it was a fun day with plenty of excitement. saw ice and felt very cold temps up there. i think it was in the 40's for most of the day and 30's at night.
as from the list and avis's summary we had an eventful day.
our altercation happened when the towmaster came along and pass up one of our team and cliped is fender cracking the plastic. in the heat of the moment our guy sped up and rammed him. not smart idea as was explained to him later. we were not in a cliff area but still should not have happened. towmaster stepped out our guy ran when a huge gorrila of a man stepped out. words were exchanged a punch was thrown but not connected. in the words of the towmaster "i had my satisfaction seeing him run when i got out of my jeep". towmaster gave our guy $80 bucks to cover damage. this were squared and we even saw him a couple of more times on the trip with no futher events or bad feelings.
the rescue mission happen with help of our chevy boat anchor. if he had not been getting stuck and having to be pulled along (flash back for me lower syc creek:red|)we would not have been there to help. While pulling him through an obstacle a lady walked up on us saying that they had two flat tires a little ways back. asked if we could help we said sure but we did not know if our spares would work. the smallest tires we had or thought we had were 31's but i discovered and forgot that my spare was actually an original tire because i forgot to change it out when i got new tires and it has been hidden under my tire cover. well i loaded up the other tire in the back and brought along another guy in case we needed help. as we were traveling to help them we started getting a little nervous because she said she was only a little ways back. they were more like a mile back and blocking the middle of the trail at a narrow cliff point. by the way stock wrangler. we fixed em up with my spare he had used his own spare for the other tire.
we then got them to the top with us safe and sound. i stayed back and talked with them for a bit when the gentleman commented on the fish on my jeep and said that he was praying to god that he would find him someone to help them. his wife, just getting over breast cancer walked a mile to find us while he worked on his jeep to get that tire done. there was a reason i was out there today. exchanged numbers and told him to take his time to get spare back to me which i am going to let him keep and i will get one off of craigs list or something to replace it on mine. at least they met us and not the towmaster who would have charged them an arm and a leg to help them out. (us 1 towmaster 0)
we finished the last leg in the dark about 5 miles or so to the top. ate a wonderful dinner with a few of us who stayed to eat. missed double cheese burger time but the ribs and chicken were very good. i finally got home around 11 and that is my story and i am sticking with it.
