just based off what I've heard/seen I'd go with Rustys steering upgrade, seems to be real good.. I know that's what I'm going with when I have the money..

if youre patient you can usually find a used currie setup for less then that. I paid $150 for mine
#4
stay away from rustys . Search some other forums. People have had some big problems with rustys

Take a look at Sy's Steering setup. It's about the same price as the Currie setup and much beefier in my opinion. Well worth the cost.

i like that kit too, it takes the guesswork out of building one, and as long as you can read a tape measure and run a decent bead it's a great way to save money.

I went with that kit. Just got it finished up a couple weeks ago. Luvin it so far. It's really tight and eliminated alot of slop. As was already said, the fab work is pretty straight forward.

the steering on my TJ shakes alot when i get to about 30 to 40 MPH.. I got 35" Super Swamper SSR tires.. Do you think this steering would eliminate the shaking or is ith the tires?
#13
Hard to say if it would cure it or not. There are alot of components to check. If your TRE's are worn it would be an improvement, no doubt.
#14
do you think it could also be the brand tires.. the people from absolute offroad are tellin me it is caused by the tires
#15
When's the last time you had your tires balanced?
#16
i had them balanced about a year ago or so, joe from absolute rotated them about 2 or 3 months ago
#17
double check everything is tight down there, have a friend turn the wheel while you watch underneath for anything thats loose

Its the tires. Swampers shake. I didn't believe Joe on that till I got my new tires. I now believe.

I would have bet my none existant savings that Joe had stock in local tire and hat shops the way he hands that faulty tire sentence out, but I'd have lost with Bob's very real experience. He's still an Absolute Ayho tho

Offroadaz's solution is the easiest way to check anything out before jumping to conclusions that it's something you can't do on your own.
