front drive shaft
#1
i need a new front drive shaft for my TJ. Any suggestions on what to get?
#2
More info... Why do you need one? Trash it? New t-case?

well, i took it to KOR and they told me, first, when i flex out, my drive shaft sits right on top of my T-Case skid plate. Second, they told me that the drive shaft rotates in the wrong direction. Also, i dont know if it has anything to do with the drive shaft, but at about 30 MPH my truck starts to shake horribly until i hit 40.

Not sure how a new DS will fix this? Sounds like a skid problem.

What? How is your DS turning the wrong direction? How will a new DS fix this?

Could be a DS but sounds like a front end problem. Are the ujoints on the DS good? Is the DS bent?

I have seen problem #1 on Rubicon's with the additional tranny skid. Notching would be a quick fix if you can keep it structurally intact and not weakened.

#2 sounds like a miscommunication or BS

#3 you can check pretty quickly on your own. A vibe could be anywhere. Isolate the problem. Take off your front drive shaft and see if it still vibes. If not, they're trying to shaft you.

They also told me that when the front track bar was installed, it was relocated and the bracket is just about to break. any suggestions on how to figure this one out. They told me to just get a full new front track bar and KOR would install it for me at the right location..

Pictures?
N2BaD, but please tell me you've gotten underneath and looked at the bracket yourself.

I have gotten under and checked it out myself. i just dont know if i need to replace the entire track bar or just do a new bracket. I'll post pics of the bracket and where it is weak..

I also had the KOR U Turn steering installed, and its been givin me some problems. Could the steering components be part of the shaking my jeep gets at 30 MPH?
#11
Is Kevin's steering a Hi Steer? setup? If so and if you have a stock trac bar configuration you are sure to have bump steer with it.

Ben I can't remember who's lift do you have your rig?
#12
I do think it is a Hi-Steer. I got the Skyjacker Long arm lift as well

bring it by and ill look at it and tell you if the brackets need fixin. i know my stuff and theres plenty of people to vouch for me.
