If by camping you mean we stay in a cabin near by and meet everyone for the snow run... we're in!

Always up for a snow run.

Do you think my red jeep would be good enough for the snow? It at least has a heater.

If we watch the weather, the Young-Globe HWY (dirt road) down from Forest Lakes stays open in the snow along with many of its smaller FR spurs since it is Tonto NF.

Last year we did the first Saturday of the year ( http://www.higherground4x4.com/trips/rattlesnake-canyon-snow-run-09 ). This year that date falls on January 2nd. But you know how the weather works here.

FYI, we waited until after Jan. 1 last year because the Rattlesnake Canyon trail is closed Aug. 15-Dec. 31 each year. Depending on any BIG snowfall, we could go sooner or later.

I agree, but I kind of like the "new years weekend" tradition of doing a snow run to start the new year...

My 2 cents.

I'm in. Sounds like a lot of fun. Never done a snow run. Haven't had the guts to go out without a winch.

Are we still entertaining this snow run??
