Roof Rack
#1
OK. Age old question.

Roof Rack or no Roof Rack or Modified Mounting.

Pros - it's a great place for Lucy, plus it holds a lot of crap when we DO actually go camping.

Cons - it keeps getting hung up on Anaconda and Collateral Damage and it's tearing up my rain gutters.

The real driver is the tearing up my rain gutters. Any suggestions on optional mounting that is still removable?

ditch the roof rack, go with a custom built swing away tire carrier that has a removable rack mount on it for gear

Then ditch that and go hard core with a trailer.

My only concern is for Lucy

I've been wondering the same thing with mine.. I tore it off on a tree a while back and then I just ended up running blots clear through the roof to secure it down good. Other wise I wouldn't know what else to do with the spare and the hi-lift

Not mean!!! I said nothing about a frame or lack of one.

You make an excellent point, my friend. Thank you for leaving my lack of a frame out of it. That conversation died quickly at the home front, by the way. :red| Joe's working on the XJ now.

Now if I can only figure out what these "blots" are that Avis is refering to...
