Northern AZ caves
#1
Mike, Jonathan and me headed up this weekend to the Payson area to explore some caves. The day started early at 7am with a 2 hour exploration of Scout Cave near Payson. From there we drove off and found 2 more caves that we spent the rest of the day in.

Scout Cave was one we had to do since its a very well known cave in the Payson area. The rooms were mostly dead but after a few tight hand and knee crawls we found some living formations.

The second cave we had to fight off a plague of flying insects that insisted on flying in your nose, mouth and ears, they were so thick you could feel them all over your arms as you moved.

The last cave was the best so far, lots of passages and rooms to explore. Very easy to lose your sense of direction in as we discovered on our way out :)=)

Heres the only pic I managed to grab

Nice. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Too hot in the computer room right now (AC is out in the house).

I had an awesome time. Fun finding the caves and fun wandering and crawling around inside. Thanks to Jonathan for being the designated rabbit holer. Really was a successful trip!

See, I'm the other end of the spectrum... I just don't get it. Big caves/caverns... I'm fine, little tight caves? Ugh! Not for me, man! I'm glad you guys are fine, had a great time, and came back safe, though! Good weekend.

Seriously, you guys should warn Chris when the "man shot" is coming so he can quit smiling...

I know its a little late but wanted to say thanks for the pics Mike. It's amazing how much better they look than mine (i'm sure mostly due to the more expensive camera:lol:). Seriously though I know you weren't sure about bringing your camera in but I'm glad you did the pictures look great.
