MS Movie Maker?
#1
I asked a friend of mine what video editor he was using; he told me about MS Movie Maker. He really likes it, and I like clips I've seen that he put together with it. When I went to download it from MS I read a bunch of really rotten reviews of the program. Now I'm not so sure, so I thought I'd ask you guys what software you're using? The main feature I was going after was being able to import music over the existing audio.

TIA,

for basic movies it works great, pretty easy to use and user friendly

Ive used it on a few movies Ive done but recently switched to Pinnacle Studio 12.

Main reason for switching was Frys Electronics had a rebate for Studio 12, ended up getting it for free after rebates

I went ahead and downloaded the program, and you're right, it's super simple to use. Now the only problem I have is changing the file extention from .mswmm to .avi or .wma }:(

I've tried everything I can think of. Ever have this problem? How do you get around this?

Thanks again!

Make sure you finalize the movie, goto File then Save as a movie. There should be an option for saving it as a wmv then. If you want to save it as an mpeg or something else I think you would need to use a 3rd party program to convert it to that format

I figured it out. It's at upload from camera that you have the option. The first little clip I did was with a saved file, so MM changed the file extention when I saved the clip into the program.

It's kind of a drag; when you upload from camera for .avi it takes up about 178 mb per minute whereas if you opt for the .wmv it only takes about 14 mb per minute, but the file extention reads as .mswmm when you try to do anything with it.

It is kind of fun to play with though.
