Geoff and Shanda solo shakedown
#1
Well as some of you know I spent the last three or so months doing a total reconstruct of the 01 xj we have. We had planned on meeting the group from NAXJA for their year rockfest that they put on. Well my DUMA-- didn't bother reading the details for the trip. They changed where they were going to camp and I never read anything about it, Oh well...
So the family and I decided just to go out to some trails and goof off and shake down the rig, find the weak spots or let it tell me what I forgot to do. Shanda being the AWESOME girlfriend she is, grabbed my gps and on it i had H2H marked on it and decided to run it.
I heard all about it last year and seeing the rigs that did it, figured my can surely walk through it NOW. I know I broke the first part of the wheelers code by going out on such a hard trail and especially by ourselves, but i had no doubts that im sure it could do it. Heck, a guy on 33's did it last year.
Heres some pics of the run, now either I built one heck of a rig, Im a good spotter, OR Shanda is one heck of a good driver, so you tell us...

Heres me doing some last min stuff, disani water bottle for rad. over flow tank and putting my new cooling fan on.

Heres the boys getting strapped in for their "roller coaster" ride.

Shanda finding the pucker/ tipping point of the new jeep

Getting the new wheels a proper break in

Looking like a Pro

So what you all think?

I need a torque arm for the rear axle
Tighten and seal the rear axle they kept coming loose
Locktite is getiing some buisness soon from me
The brakes need a litle more bleeding.

All in all a sweet day of hanging with the family

Yep sure is. I went to utah on a friday night and turned around and came straight back to pick it up. Its only made in 78/79 ford f 250 camper special. Most are on the east coast so when they pop up for sale on the west they go quick and i mean quick. i talked to the dude at 700 am on friday when he posted it and left at 00 that night to get it.

LOL I think I kept calling you every couple of hours on that trip to make sure you didn't DIE driving while asleep, because you had worked all day, driven all night, then taken a nap in the cab of your truck before coming home!

Silly man. What we do when chasing the gods, huh. :cool)

I would just like to stay.
I HAD ONE GREAT SPOTTER!!:clap::clap:
There was a couple of times that I would have liked to run over him but, overall I wouldn't have it any other way. Best part is when the kids and I decided to step on it at the last one and up the hill we went. Forgetting Geoff.....:)=):)=)

Good run, Right?:)g)
