Great pics. Lot of action this trip.
That pic of Alan and Ivan inside is an awesome Father/Son moment capture :))

Looks like some people had a problem on CD after you guys:
VJC notice:3 rigs broken up on collateral damage - assistance needed

Thanks to everyone who came out today. We had a really good time. Thanks to Dana for taking the pictures and Chip for making it up the last waterfall of Collateral unassisted (not sure how the rest of us would have gotten out without that).

And a final big thanks to Bob:

the black beast lives on...me likey the 4to1. It made a huge difference on Collateral. We made it up all the obstacles unassisted except the last waterfall and no gunny on the gas (we can actually crawl now). The extra belly clearance with the slip yoke was very nice as well. :)=)

Guys, we had a BLAST! One of the dudes who rode with us gave me a number of a guy who has XJ parts... for $20 I have a new rear hatch! Guess what I'm doing tomorrow!!!! :)=)

Long arms and front locker? Walked up the big rock at the end of conda like a big boy. :cool)

what a great day.

I'm so happy. :red| I ran all of Collateral, too.

Damn Alan, nice work. I've never seen an XJ take that much damage on CD. Could you not put tires up on the wall and ride it up?

Glad you all had a good time testing the new mods. You picked a great trail for a test. CD was the first place I headed after the stretch.

Alan probably won't spread the blame so I will do it for him...I would say spotting was at least partially to blame for the hatch damage. Didn't have him high enough on the rock on the left so his front slid in the hole instead of climbing around it. When there are too many spotters with different ideas and you're the only XJ on a trail for the first time it's hard to know who to trust :eyeroll: Fortunately Alan is a trooper and gave high-fives all around after the damage "just a part of wheeling sometimes" :)=)

HA! It's because it IS a part of wheelin', buddy. :)=)

Learning how to pick a line and who to listen to is part of it also. I'm learning my rig and getting better each run when it comes to picking lines. This is part of the learning experience.

I'm 80% of the way through repairs, so when I'm done, I'll say "what damage? I have no idea what you are talking about!" }:)

If we could refocus our attention, though... I DID climb up the rock I got stuck on when we ran conda with the rats... great spotting by themud (Daniel) and front locker good. Next time the "V" notch will be mine too!

And the trip pic that makes me lol:

Seriously... I have no idea what all this talk of "damage" is about.

All it needed was a good wax and buff and all the little scratches come out.

Sissies.

Before:

After a simple wash and wax...

Really... all this fuss over nothing. ;)

Nice work alan Im still working on mine it'll be at least a few weeks before Im good to go again.... At least you know you have a spotter anytime ya need one...

Mike, I'm glad you woke up to your alarm clock for our outing. I'm glad you took pics, too. The soupa-blue sky makes a world of a difference in the pertiness/awesomeness of the pics. They turned out nicely, minus the peeps, hehe. Thanks!

There are plenty of pics of us showing our bellies :cool) And I'm glad we could help make the yellow flowers stand out in the pics.

Nah, wasn't trying to place any blame, just wondering if you were able to put tires on the left side to stay high up. I'd bet money you'd have scraped up somethin either way. It's just part of the game on that obstacle.

Glad you all had a good time and there was minimal damage.

Yeah... I knew that was the line, but just couldn't get turned to get the right angle. It was my bad. Jon was able to go more straight, and even though his left rear dropped down, he was short enough to not catch the rock... for the first time in my life, I was just too long. :)=)

You're right, part of wheelin. Now I know that line won't work for me and I'll try another one next time.

CD was freakin' cool, though. I loved that run.

Bump plus a "what a difference a couple year and a frame make" comment. LOL
