Introducing the TIV2. An awesome piece of machinery
#1
For those that watch Storm Chasers you know what the TIV is. For those that don't it's a 2wd, 8 ton, steel plated, not very water proof vehicle designed to intercept a tornado. It was built by an Imax film maker in order for him to get amazing video from inside a tornado.

Now introducing the saweet TIV2: Dodge 3500, 10 wheel (yes 10) drive, 3 axles all with lockers, 1/8" thick steel, much higher ground clearance, and all around awesome. Now it has steel flaps that fold down when they are about to intercept a tornado so that it won't be picked up by the high winds. After it's over fold the flaps back up and you have the clearance to go do some wheelin' rac~

On the left TIV2, on the right TIV1

One problem. Someone better tell him those MT/R's are going to clog with mud.:)=)

It's about time. Their other one kept breaking and I always wondered about that clearance.
Now if they just got a new Imax leader guy. The one now is so annoyingly whiney.

It will not end well for the new rig...

As long as no one pops the door locks or writes "balls" on their wheels, it'll do fine.

LOL They are already having problems with this one. The very rear axle shaft already snapped.

And I think they should switch the tires to mud terrains. Those MT/R's will clog in seconds on a muddy farm road.
