Virgil and Chris. Are you doing this instead of the Canyon de Chelly run?

After our 2008 CDC run we just completed, my original plan was to do Monument Valley in Spring 09 and a return to CDC in the fall of 09. With the Moab trip on the calendar for May 09, I decided to bump Monument Valley to the fall and a return to CDC sometime in the spring of 2010.

Was everyone dead set on returning to CDC in 2009? I want to organize both trips, but I also want to make sure they are not too close together allowing us to have maximum participation. If we really wanted, Monument Valley could be done in early Sept. and CDC done in early Oct. or something like that. I'm open to suggestions.

April 09 Monument Valley and September 09 Canyon de Chelly? I'm just worried about participation levels if I schedule stuff too close together. I'll bring the topic up Saturday night too if you guys want to discuss with me further.

I need to get rolling on further planning of this trip. I'll probably call the tour company this week to lock in the date. Is there still interest in going?

If I can get some dates then I can see what I can do to schedule the time off... and Ill need a cost too :)g)

Well, the dates I was going for are Sept. 19 and 20. Drive up Friday night and back Sunday afternoon. For the M-F crowd, at most, you'd need to take time on Friday. Last year I think my wife and I both took off 2 hours early and still made it up there by 9pm. I'll call to lock in the dates and get a better idea of pricing.

I'm cancelling this trip. I don't think there is enough interest and I don't have enough time to deal with organizing it for this fall. I may try again next spring. Thanks.
