Late December / Early Jan run?
#1
Don't care where, just need to run.

Between being out of town and working some weekend in December, it will be two months in between wheelin' events and I'm going a little nuts.

I've got open the weekend of the 27/28 of December, or even the 3/4 of January.

let's plan a run. Like I said... don't care where. It can be a snow run, a leisure run in the woods up near Payson, it can be TM or FJ... it's all good.

Any takers?

I'd be up for something.
I don't know yet if I'll still have relatives in town 27/28 but 3/4 should definitely work
#3
We'd be down. Jonathan's got a thing for TM ;)
#4
hmm Id be in for a 3.0 or lower trail

Prefer something pretty

I will not have a rig that works by then... so Im out.

Im not sure how trail worthy the XJ is, wouldnt mind something under 3.0 & or senic works too.
In-laws will be in town too so maybe I can get my father in law out of the house & off the golf channel.

What weekend? I'm interested in going.

I've been wanting to run FR41 from Table Mesa Road east to Seven Springs. It's supposed to be a fairly easy trail.
#8
Isn't that just a road?
#9
I'd be interested in a scenic family run, but I really need to run over some rocks and climb some stuff (hence the TM suggestion... }:) )

Let's do both! I'm sure my wife would like to go out on a more tame route than we usually do, then Ivan and I can crawl some stuff. (not the same day, or course, but two different trips...)

So both weekends then? I'm game

Rock on! I like the way think, Randy. :cool)

Yeah, there are some side trails off it. I've been wanting to run it and it was mentioned by a few that they wanted to do an easier trail. I've never been on the whole thing. I've been on the east end from FR24 over to FR37 where we pulled that Ranger out in Oct.

It was just a suggestion. I'm actually thinking of going out both weekends listed above. Are you guys wanting to stay close? Rattlesnake Canyon is open after Jan. 1 and that's on my to do list also.

I want to get out and hit the dirt as much as possible while gas prices are where they are. It's like half price wheelin'.

Good answer.

Is Rattlesnake the one I'm thinking of along 1-17 off Stoneman Lake that I see people doing in the snow?

I was on a "dirt road" yesterday that was only a 6 miles long but took an hour ten to drive. :eyeroll: The Jeep behind me took 2hrs. Long jarring and shelfy.

Yeah, it's in the James Massey AZ Backroads book. It's up by Stoneman Lake Road. Only open Jan. 1 - August 1 each year since rattlesnakes like to do it in the fall and don't want to be watched.

It's a good idea if there's snow. It's listed as 3.0
The snow would make it a new experience for most of our guys.

Alan, let's plan a TM trip also, I will post another thread.

I will find a way to make a run like that... It may be in the Ram with some off road rubber but I will make it.

That looks awesome, but I could only do snow in the YJ (once it's fixed) the CJ doesn't have a heater
