#1
Sorry for the late notice, but if anyone can make it to either meeting would be great. Please wear your red shirts if you can make it.

Greetings!
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) invites you to tell us what types of recreation and road access are important to you in the Phoenix "Table Mesa Recreation" area. The map of the Table Mesa Recreation Plan is on the back of this letter. Take a look at the map. Are there roads you'd like to see closed or opened? Can you identify areas that are best for off road vehicles, horseback riding, or hiking? What about areas for safe target shooting? We feel that you have valuable insight and information that will help craft a thoughtful and workable Recreation Plan for the area. As you consider your needs and desires, we'd also appreciate your consideration to develop a plan for multiple uses:
• Safe, recreational shooting areas
• Access points for recreation areas
• Additional parking/trailhead needs
• Open/closing of routes and why
• Private property access issues
• Valid existing rights

There are two public meetings scheduled – November 18th or 20th – you need to attend only one.

You are on the mailing list because you or your organization had previously participated in the Resource Management Plan for the Hassayampa Field Office and Agua Fria National Monument, and we want to keep you informed.
Once we hear from you and get your ideas on road and recreation access, the BLM will finalize a Recreation Activity Plan/Travel Management Plan and Environmental Assessment. When completed, the BLM will seek funding for and implement the Table Mesa Recreation Plan and associated projects.

Sy it was good seeing you again too. I also saw a couple of higherground shirts there, sorry I did not get time to say hi to everyone.

I agree I think it went pretty well. I was very happy to see so many off roaders and shooters as well as other users of the area. It seemed like there was quite a bit of good dialogue going on, some great suggestions and a few more people then they expected.

If anyone can try an make it to the Thursday meeting in Anthem that would be awesome, hopefully we can have just as good a showing up there.

One area we need to monitor is how those two parcels of land that are private and going to be developed with homes is going to affect any trails or access to the trails.

Another is just which trails are being looked at for closure and which ones are being looked at to remain open. I noticed that Lower Terminator was highlighted on at least the map at our table as riparian, which will mean closure. I brought this up at the meeting as a concern. There is a riparian area between lower and upper, thus why there is an exit and a new entrance. However closing down lower will in affect also close Anaconda, so just an area to watch and see. I might take my friend who is a biologist out there to get her take on it.

Again great showing everyone, and if you can make it again or for the first time Thursday that would be great too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
