Newbie '05 Xterra here...
#1
I joined after watching Skatchkins' roof rack build thread, as my brother and I are doing something very similar. I am an avid poster over on Thenewx.org and am looking forward to learning more from here! See my sig for build and pics links, BTW.

Cool. Hope you love yours as much as I love mine. Huge difference IMO.
Welcome

Welcome... nice looking rig. Great pics! I especially liked the one where you were catching some air :)) Just my style

Thanks guys. Yeah, those older shots of me catching air are pretty much why I had to upgrade to bigger, more stout coilivers! Oh well, like I need an excuse to add more mods to my rig?!

Did you break after that air? I have caught a little in my JK but I am a sissy when it comes to jumping I will admit it :'(

When I first had my lift done I went out and tried to dip it into every hole I could to see how much 'flex' capability it had... sure enough the first day I extended the drivers side sway bar disconnect so far that it went negative and wrapped around the axle. Had to get out the tools and hammer and 'make' it good as new :)=) Luckily Teraflex not only warranteed it but actually sent me out longer disconnects so it wouldn't happen again.

I have already bent my axle on the passenger rear... but that is a story for another day 8| Let's just say Jeep ate that one and they were not too happy.

I actually made it through this jump on just stock Bilstein shocks and 2" spacers:

Wound up running those until I upgraded to 2.0" Radflo coilovers and aftermarket UCA's from PRG Products, as used in this jump:

This last image wasn't really that much of a "jump," I just had to pop the front end up basically in order to make it up that ledge. But I would love to go back to that spot in the first pic and try that jump now! I have since then had to replace an axle half shaft, tie rod, front diff, and some u-joints but other than that no biggies!

Sweet!!! I actually saw both of those on your Blog. Have you ever wheeled out here? If you ever get out this way drop me a line... always looking for an excuse to hit the back road to Crown King or head up to Sedona.

This first pick shows where I broke... if I would have just kept going it would have not been a big deal, but nooooo... I had to back up and get a better picture :! :)=)

How in the world do you break on that? Breaking on CK brings the  and to do it on that... How do you eat an 44 on that?

I agree... CK is not the issue though... On the sway bar disconnects, it turned out that Teraflex put the wrong one's in the kit... they were too short for the 4" lift / shocks. Easy fix though... they overnighted longer one's and no problems since. The Dana 44 issue was a bent axle flange... now obviously I did the damage but for Jeep to have fixed it without any complaint shows that they know of a weak point / issue otherwise they would have pointed at me for "use or abuse".

LOL, I hear ya. I've never made it to AZ but I do know quite a few other Xterra guys who are in/around Phoenix. Check out http://www.thenewx.org
and do a search for "Phoenix, AZ" or just "AZ" and I'm sure plenty of them will want to do some wheelin'!
