We made it back. Great trip at 10,000'. Big workout on the hiking side (7mi round trip with 2500'+ elevation change). More details and pics of waterfalls and mushrooms after rest :P

Teaser pic for now:

I hate to post pictures before Michael does, only to be trumped by his artistry, but here goes it...

Great shots Steve. I'm glad everyone made it home safe. Did you guys get any crazy weather or did any 200 foot trees land on you? LOL :red|

I told you not to take pics like that!
Very nice Steve. I had a great time with you there too.
I really like the fog (cloud) pic. You can't tell on "film" but those last shots are overlooking a 4000+' drop view.

I know! I had a Robert Frost type moment when I saw it. Killer shot.

That was the road into our secluded camp spot. In the mornings and sometimes during the day the cloud would cover our altitude. It usually would only rain below where we were since we were in the cloud.

K here's some of mine. I took fewer pics than usual and came up with more betters than usual. It really was all the location. Tell me you'd guess any of this is AZ. More overlooks and mushrooms tomorrow.

A view from lookout on road up

Thanks. It actually wasn't really. During the day it was t-shirts. We had our ponchos handy on the hike where we descended below the clouds to some rain. It was usually overcast in the morn and then cleared up around noon. The first night the fire was nice, but the second night I didn't fully zip my sleeping bag up.

There was a neat rock structure next to camp I climbed up for that. The pic was taken on the last day so J's woodpile was depleted. He did really good by the fire though. The wood was pretty wet up there since it seemed like it got rain or cloud dusted daily. He managed to whittle some trees down to the dry stuff and kept the fire going even when it actually did rain on camp.

I admit, I didn't "get" mushroom pics until going on this trip.

I'm sure Steve and Dana have more. We'll have to compile them later

Awsome Pictures! I love the creek waterfalls. I wish I could create that small of an aperature with my camera. You captured a good one of the sunset as well. I had already started hiking back up the side of the cliff at that point. I guess patience is a huge factor in being a good photographer - nice job! I'll post some shroom pix shoon.
#16
Nicely done Mike. Like waterfalls much? :P I love fuzzy waterfalls!

Now for some of the shrooms.
