Official HG September trip: 9-27-08 wknd
#41
Alan are you gonna camp Saturday night?
#42
No. If we do camp, it'll be Friday night, but not Saturday night as of now... who knows, though. Jen may consent to ride trails Saturday morning, then stay in a hotel in Flag on Saturday night with us having a family day in Flag on Sunday, but I seriously doubt it... her take will be "well if we're going to Flag, why can't we just go there? Do we have to ride all those trails in the morning?", plus she and Katelyn are NOT my early morning risers, especially when sitting in a Jeep most of the morning is involved... so, we'll play it by ear, I guess.

If you going up Friday night, we can just make it a caravan up there. Which forest road were you hoping to avoid?
#44
Ill talk with Megan, we might head up Friday too

When you sent us up the first trip (to make the trip more fun, and it was, except for the whole Mitch driving like a sissy thing), we exited I17 at Munds Park (I think), ran the frontage road briefly, then took a forrestry road from the frontage road to 89A, did brief stint on 89A, then turned right onto the road that eventually led to the amazing camp site. The first road from the frontage road to 89A is the one I can miss this time... ;)
#46
Gotcha. You'll either need to take 89A up the mountain then or go all the way up to Flag and backtrack.
#47
My vote is 89a :)g)
Just drove up it on Saturday (SCARY road at night though 8| )

Well hope no one minds... But I would like to at least bring out the X and tag along with you guys. Had a good time meeting a few of ya at Firestone, and Now I'd like to see what your rigs could do.

The Frontier, well it will be iffy... It has some needed work to be done to keep up (need the front diff installed)... And I don't see enough time before then to get all the work done. But I might just tear the truck up in the driveway and hope I can get it together before then.

Well hope to see you guys soon... I'm trying to get a few others to join me too (most showed up to Firestone)... So maybe if you guys get wild you can have a audiance.

That shouldn't be a problem if on the trail the X stays a little back as the Jeeps are hoping for a couple extra shots for the calendar this year.
And last I heard, the camping needs to be family friendly since there will be kidlins and wives there.

Hey I'm totally cool rollin in the back of the pack... It's your guys run anyway... I just wanna tag along :) And those of us that go out are pretty family friendly. I've got like 2 or 3 iffy X rigs that are debating... So worse case we run separate behind you guys.

Oh yeah... And you know I totally want to leach off ya for camera pointers... I'm getting a little better since the last time ya helped me out too.

Oh it's more than just you?
I dunno if this is the run for that since it's an "official" trip.

Your call... We can always go our own way... Timing just lined up well to get to meet you guys. So far I think everyone that came to FireStone were the interested parties though.

Seems like this is an issue with the AZ Xterra "official" runs too (silly Toyota people).
I'm going to take a stand on the "official" label as a Jeep only run.
My X will not be on the trail; I will be hoofing it around.

I agree, but I really hate excluding people too

We should plan a group run in the future, Combine the AZ X people and HG4x4
