After the mandatory breakfast at Cracker Barrel Thursday we were on our way. We stopped in Yuma for a nice lunch at Famous Daves and arrived in San Diego that evening. We didn't do too much Thursday night, just walked around Old Town and had dinner.

Friday we spent the first half of the day at the park in Old Town where they were having an old fashioned 4th of July picnic and party. Lots of period costumes and shops to look at.

That evening we headed to Seaport Village and saw a patriotic pops concert with fireworks.

Saturday we spent most of the day at the beach and relaxing.
Sunday we were able to tour the USS Midway which is a decommissioned air craft carrier. It was pretty cool to see and learn about the history of it.

The wheelhouse was pretty interesting, the ship was built during WWII so the entire wheelhouse was armored with at least 4" thick steel plates to protect the captain and senior officers.
