Dana, you should know God makes better stuff than my face... :)=)
I screwed that up myself falling asleep while driving. My left cheek, jaw, eyesocket, and my nose were all reconstructed when I was 17. My jaws were wired shut for 10 weeks (maybe that's why I talk too much now... LOL). The doctors said I should have broken my neck and died, but instead my face absorbed the impact, caved in, and saved my life.
It has shaped much of my life and who I am, but we really do serve an AMAZING GOD who actually does have a plan for our lives, even though we can't always see it. I was very "dark" for about 5 years afterwards (because in my mind I should have died, so what did anything matter, right?) and not a very nice fella... This wreck changed so many things in the course of my life, including where I went to college, etc...
No wreck and I may never have met Jen (who I met a college) and may never have had the kids... or we would have met some other way. I don't know. That "what if" game was fun back in the day, but just hurts my head these days! :)=)
Sorry to hi-jack the thread. The anniversary date always puts it really fresh in my mind.
