Who's your next President?
#1
OK, we are in serious situation here, I'm not gonna get into all the crap about who brings what to the table or who believes what, hopefully you all know this info already. I just wanna stir the political pot and see what you think...

vote for who you would vote for, or tell us who you would pencil in. My pencil in is in the pole.

You need to make the "None of the Above" category bigger... }:)

I'm relly dissapointed in this year's political offering and I will be spending even MORE time in prayer for our country.
#3
Um... I think we have an fat fingered accidental democrat on here. Please be careful when right clicking.

i picked pizza bacon

not thrilled with obama or mccain. I think both lead the country in the wrong direction, they just have different ways of bringing it about
#5
I know it's a lose/lose situation, we're in trouble.
#6
Not a Dem just an Indy. I just think if McCain wins its Bush JR.

While Fred Thompson was my first choice in this years brew ha ha of political candidacies I will be voting for McCain. A non-vote or vote for the Independent candidates just puts Obama one step closer to the white house and I just can't consciously let that happen.

if we toe the line and vote for whichever candidate our party picks, how will the party ever change? By doing that they know they can throw a crappy candidate out there and just because he has a R or D in front of their name people will vote for them

Chris, I agree with you to a point. However Americans across the country still have a heavy hand in selecting who our parties put on the ballot. The democratic ticket was also tightly contested and there are hard feelings throughout the country about whom their choice is. Yes McCain is more of a moderate conservative than I'd like, but overall the Republican party still represents things I hold near and dear. Less government is better, responsible economic policy and most importantly leaving me the hell alone and letting me live my life for myself. Letting me celebrate my successes and pull myself up out of my failures.

I think we are back again to voting to the lesser of two evils.

I have to say while not happy with either, Obama's economic plan is beyond belief.

I have to say much of how I am going to vote has to do with the economic plans put forth by both candidates. In addition I have to agree with all the reasons Jack said as to what I am looking at to vote, picking the candidate irregardless of party line that best represents what I believe in.

I don't believe that McCain would be a President Bush Jr, they were during the previous primary pretty far apart on quite a few things.

If anyone has time, not sure I can get to this, but want to verify the validity of this:
Heard this AM on the radio that the person he has picked to be his Head of National Security was quoted as saying we could learn alot about national security from Winnie the Pooh and that the CIA, FBI and our spy groups could learn alot from Luke Skywalker. I am going to have to search on line to find out of these quote are true, but (quote from radio DJ) shouldn't we make sure that the Head of National Security can sit at teh big boy table before getting that job? And no this was not from a political or talk station, it was during a music stations news in the AM show yesterday on Kool FM.

Here is a write in we should all vote for:
Sy for President
Lisa for VP
Jack for National Security
Hackle for Press Secretary

I agree with that. However I dont think Mccain represents those views.

Mccain seems to be for bigger government, more gov't regulation and welfare.

Heres a few highlights from his official site

John McCain Will Help Americans Hurting From High Gasoline And Food Costs. Americans need relief right now from high gas prices. John McCain will act immediately to reduce the pain of high gas prices.

I dont want the gov't involved in gas prices. It needs to be decided by the market, not federal regulation or gas "holidays".

John McCain Is Proposing A New "HOME Plan" To Provide Robust, Timely And Targeted Help To Those Hurt By The Housing Crisis. Under his HOME Plan, every deserving American family or homeowner will be afforded the opportunity to trade a burdensome mortgage for a manageable loan that reflects their home's market value.

sweet, bailout for those who made bad choices.

John McCain Calls For The Immediate Formation Of A Justice Department Mortgage Abuse Task Force. The Task Force will aggressively investigate potential criminal wrongdoing in the mortgage industry and bring to justice any who violated the law. The DOJ Task Force will offer assistance to State Attorneys General who are investigating abusive lending practices.

Great, more government involvement in business. Just what we need. The gov't needs to stay out of private matters

Those are just a few of the policies I disagree with. This election is gonna stink.

Awww crap, Jack. Now you've got him started up again...

Do I need to repost all of his "Ron Paul" stuff again to remind you of how bad it can get? 8|

um, thanks for winding him up again... :)=)

Chris, I am right there with you boss. I completely agree with you on every single point you made above. However you know that those comments are just campaign rhetoric and will really never come a reality. Yes, the housing market sucks. And yes a lot of people did get into predatory arm loans that is sinking them now. Yes gas is high, but we've also enjoyed very low fuel costs compared to the rest of the world for the last 30 years. So this is more of a market correction in both the fuel and house markets. I don't have time to go look for quotes, but I've also seen McCains voting records on pork belly spending and he is definitely not about to give our money away on something that is just fluff legislation attached to some bill. He is very high on our national security and that is one thing that I'm very partial to.

To take a quote from a movie. "We have serious problems, and we need serious people to solve them." Your 15 minutes are up Obama, now it's time for the men to get to work.

I don't know what side of the fence you were on with Ron Paul, but I did like some of the things he represents, but I honestly don't know what constitution he reads, but whatever it is takes everything too far. I'm definitely right wing, but he off the deep end. LOL Like I said before I was very much into Fred Thompson. For the first time ever I gave money to a primary candidate, I believed that much in him. A fiscal and social conservative is what we need to keep the right and the left from ruining this country in the middle.

Oh, and sorry Alan, but politics gets me fired up too. Especially as much as I'm involved with the AZOHVC.

I agree 100%. Part of it is our own fault, we vote for the guys who tell us what we want to hear instead of listening and voting for those who tell it like it is and will vote for the platforms they stated when running. The lie to get in office and then vote to their own self serving ways and to pay back favors.

To me it is time we find the right people to run and start backing them.
