Moto Trax had its initial opening on May 17th 2008. They only had 215 people attend, but with all the people statewide having a lot to do, WE ROCK in Utah, Moab, the up coming cracks, the distance and gas prices, fact it was not fully open and the heat and that is not bad attendance.

We did not get too many to venture all the way down to our area being that we were the furthest from the main tent so we could be by our demo area, but the ones that did were great to meet. I did get a report that the people that watched from the main tent area were amazed to see what we were doing with our rigs, to me that was crazy considering we were right next to the moto cross freestyle ramp and those goes were awesome.

So the day started with us just doing some demo drives to show off crawling over the obstacles, and then a group next to us showed up and brought some rigs that had big lifts, big tires and big engines. They had a bit different philosophy to get your tires started and drop the hammer.

As the day wore on we did make some great contacts, found someone who hopefully will supply us some large boulders to make a really nice rock garden or two, we came up with an over all layout for the trails, need to figure out how much space to create them and have a green light. The green light right now is to create a play area that anyone can come out and play one, they want to keep it open now that everyone has a taste for it. We will be looking for some volunteers to come out and help with manicuring the play area and we are talking about making changes once a month to it so that users won’t get board if they come back at least once a month.

With the discussions going on it appears we may be the group that gets their trails in first, which would be really cool.
