Human Interaction vs. Online Shopping
#1
From the guys at steepandcheep...

I read a funny short story by Kurt Vonnegut about buying an envelope. His wife urged him to order a big pack of them and have them sent to their house, but he decided to walk to the store and buy a single envelope. He runs into an old friend on the way and chats with a young lady, and then goes home with his one envelope, richer from the experience of leaving to buy it. I thought about how I get movies off Netflix now instead of engaging in human interactions at the video store, and for one moment missed that I used to go out to pickup movies. Then in the next second I remembered that nothing good ever happens when I go to the video store. The only thing waiting for me at the rental store is a shortage of parking and a clerk who tells me that I have late fees on Blade and Blade II. And of course my roommate was the one who rented those videos using my card.

I think I should start buying groceries online.

Today I went to the store and while unloading the cart into the car, I get to the bottom and find all my bread, under the two gallons of milk, under a 12 pack of coke and all the rest of the stuff I bought.
I had to get Aubrey back out of the car, go back in with all the frozen food in the back of the car. :eyeroll:}:(

I agree with Scooby & try to purchase as much as poss. locally to support the local economy, especially in these rough times. Of course I own my own business & would hope others would do the same. I am tired of all this crap with everything going overseas.:((
