Just got home from our Tonto Creek weekend. We finally made it to the creek and after another long day, opted out of camping another night. We still all had a good time! Paul & Jared, I'm glad you made it out... and thanks for being the water boys!

No prob! had Jared not found that water... ugh probably would of made for an even rougher hike!

Glad to hear you all made it back safe!

Here's the story :)

I just got to send the following e-mail to our Scottsdale location.

It made my day. 8)

Hello team.

The Fairmont is rehearsing for a western show next door and the re-enactment actors are firing blanks as part of the show.

Several clients attending SCD classes in the Center have reported these gunshots to the police thinking they were actual gunshots and the police responded.

They are not actual gunshots. They are only blanks. Please do not worry or panic if you see police or if you hear gunshots. They are part of the show.

The local police department is working with the Fairmont about proper permits and communicating with their neighbors in a timely fashion going forward.

Thank you.

Alan

I just talked to an advisor and I will be starting my Master's program soon. I will be getting a Master in Nursing with an emphasis on Education. Gonna be a lot of work but so worth it.

pitched the idea of me teaching 50+ people here at work a high level network fundamentals class. Going to teach them the basics of the OSI model, what an ip address is and how dns works along with some hardware stuff

now I have to sit down and put the material together

gonna take awhile but should be fun

I just got back from the "Baja 500". Got a last minute opportunity on Thursday of last week to go down to Mexico and pit for Cameron and Heidi Steele of the Dessert Assassins. Cameron's trophy truck was pretty amazing and i also got the chance to meet some of the guys and editor of 4 Wheelers Magazine. Here are just some pics i took with my camera phone when i had the chance. It was awesome and I hope they let me come back and do it again for the 1000 in November.

I just really miss my home town... <sigh>

From today's paper:

Cleburne County, Ark. — Want to buy drugs? Try Dial-a-Dealer! Act now, detectives are standing by.
“Hello?”
“I want to trade some green for some green.”
“Okay, where do you want to meet?”
This scenario played out for Detective John Ed Hendricks Wednesday evening when someone looking to buy marijuana dialed his cell number by accident. “John Ed was at the White County Jail with a suspect from an arrest earlier when a call from a number he didn’t know rang into his phone,” said Jack Smith, Cleburne County Narcotics officer. “When he answered, the man on the other end said he was given his number by a friend and he wanted to trade some green for some green.”
Hendricks knew this meant trade some marijuana for cash. “He was able to get a vehicle description and the location to meet the buyer.”
Since Hendricks was still in Searcy, Smith drove to the West Pangburn Grocery to meet the subject. “I was just going to talk to him, but when I ran his name to check for warrants, he had a $10,000 breaking and/or entering felony warrant for his arrest.”
Brandon Heath Delancey, 32, of Heber Springs was arrested. “He said he didn’t know what we were talking about when asked about the drugs.”
Delancey’s wife was asked to come to the scene to pick up the vehicle and a dog that he had with him. “She was afraid she would get arrested, so she asked her uncle to go for her. When he showed up I ran him and he had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for non-payment of fines so he was taken into custody.”
The wife eventually picked up the dog, and was not arrested.

On a side note: no I'm not related to any of these folks, but I did used to baby sit the guy who's now a DETECTIVE when he was a kid. Scary stuff.
