Steel Wheels on a Tacoma
#1
I want to put some new tires and wheels on my truck but want to do it cheap. I'm going to Africa to a Missions school in June.

anyway, I was in 4 wheel parts asking about cheap steel wheels and tire and he said there have been issues with steel wheels on toyotas and to do an alloy wheel instead.

Have any of you ever heard of any problems with steel wheels?

thoughts on the cheapest place to get some 15X8's and some 33's?

Ive had black steel wheels for about 4 years now and they have held up good. The only problems Ive heard of is occasionally you can bend the lip on them if you hit a rock just right. But Ive never seen it happen

I bought mine from www.4x4rockshop.com a few years ago.

On Toy's? That's wierd. With the right backspacing you can fit those puppies on anything. The N-word guy I put a lift on a couple wknds ago went with the Procomp extreme D rings. Worked out just fine. Sometimes there can be an issue of the calipers hitting if they are large, but again backspacing can solve and I've heard a few N-word guys shaving a mil off the caliper if it did indeed contact.

(What? I didn't want to say Nissan around all these Jeep guys)

LOL I was thinking to myself Jonathan is not black.LOL

No but I think you'll agree he's a cheap n-word guy. All those Kuipers are. Speaking of, Chip found a bumper in the trash and put it on Jonathan's truck. I think it has tubes!

Here's a pic of Jonathan's tube bumper. It was quite funny. We'll post better pics of the finished product soon... and no, it won't have the tubie bumper.

And for black 15x8 steel wheels, keep your eye open on craigslist... found three of mine on there or they were bout $60/each at 4wheel parts.
