Shocks
#1
I've read Chris's write up on his shocks and I know the topic has been thown around as part of other threads, but I'm looking to replace my shock in the next month or so and would like to know more...

What do you recommend?
Why?
What is the "real" difference?
When I'm looking at "lift", what am I measuring when it comes to shocks (my XJ has a 6" lift, but I mainly see shocks for a 3" lift... am I measuring the wrong thing?)

Sorry if these are basic questions, but I've never replaced shocks and don't know the difference, so I ask you guys!

how much do you want to spend? If you have a ton of cash Id get Fox coilovers :)

if not look at Bilstein 5100 - 7100 range

I do not have a TON of cash... nice try though.

It's time to replace them and I'm don't want to go waste money on something that is junk, but since I dont' know what is junk and what isn't... I'm askin!

I've heard Bilstein a couple of times now...

I have RE and they are great but I have heard great things about Bilstein as well. Just depends on how much you want to spend.
