The US gave out $26.7 Billion dollars to other countries last year
I think our government should stop this. It should be up to the people to decide where we spend our tax dollars. Foreign aid should come from private charities and individual donations not from the government.
Alot of our foreign aid doesnt even goto the people of the country it is intended for. There are so many layers of middlemen that by the time it reaches the people it is a small fractoin of what was originally sent.
In 05 private charities and individuals out gave the government by almost $70 billion. (click for pic) This shows that as Americans we are concerned with the welfare of others and that we do not need the government to donate on our behalf
