We really wanted to hit the trails again, but with the summer Phoenix temps remaining as they were, we decided to hit Pyeatt Draw again. It's one of those trails that has just about everything, plus Jared was able to come this time. We had also hoped to try out Chris's new 44, but due to unequal gear ratios and time constraints, he had to sit this one out.
The weather threw in a new twist this go 'round as most of the trail was either under water or sloppy with mud. The obstacles we were familiar with looked totally alien and sometimes hard to find. As Chris and I were trying to figure out where the hole his Jeep had gotten trapped in last time when it was dry, Jared called out, "Found it," as his Jeep nose dived into the water.
We didn't get near as many pics as we wanted b/c we had to stow the cameras away when the rain bucketed through. By the time we headed out, the creek trail had substantially risen to a depth we would have thought twice about had we just been starting out our day. All in all Dana and Jared were able to make it work for them though, and the only real bad hang up was when one of Dana's tires lost a bead trying to climb out of a slippery spot.
