Arizona Strongest Man
Did a comp this weekend. Signed up in the novice class so I could have some fun and not just get a 0 on all events.
First was circuses dumbbell at 125lbs for reps. My max has been 115 in the gym so I knew I was in for a workout. I got it off my shoulder but couldn't lock it out. Time ran out before I could get any reps.
I then got to watch a kid about 20 and under 200lbs do 4 reps with it. That is just humbling...
2nd event was Deadlifts at 405 for max reps. I got a few in and called it. I wasn't setting my back and it was going to hurt it if I wasn't careful.
3rd event was Yoke walk with tire flip. 550lbs for 50 feet and a 500lb tire to flip back. Took that yoke for a run. I think I was 35 sec for my time.
4th event was keg toss. 5 kegs 22lbs x2 33lbs x 2 44lbs I was able to one hand the keg over the 14' foot bar for the 22lb kegs. The 33's went over easy. Then there was the 44... I swear that thing was eating my soul as I tried to pick it up. It seemed to be glued to earth and just refused to go over the bar. I got 2 tries on it before I ran out of time. Over all I was happy for it being my first time doing kegs.
5th and final was a 300lb stone to a 48" platform. I got one rep. I was able to do it in the gym for 3 in 35 sec just a week before. Not sure what happened.
Over all I had a great time and it was good to get back out there and lift heavy. My knee held up but Im paying for it... Its a little hard to walk the last two days. This stupid knee needs to get with the program or I need to find a replacement.
