Low Power 94 Dodge
So I got myself in a pickle and it's my own fault. I had been having some issues with the truck eating belts and came to realize the alternator I had only had a 5 ridge pulley instead of a 6. While removing the old alternator to warranty it I might have sort of done some vaporization of metal and accidentally arched the alternator ground wire to the block. I know I should have disconnected the battery but I was a bad mechanic and didn't. Today I've noticed lights are dim, windows are slow, and the truck is telling me it's running much cooler than normal. Granted the replacement alternator is 90 amps and I'm used to having 120 amps but the power decrease tells me I shorted or fried something.
I'll be replacing the ground wire I arched as well as the temp sending unit. Does this sound like a good starting place? What else should I be concerned about or check? I feel that my fuses are fine since everything actually works if not with some lethargy.
