Building my own suppressor

I've been fascinated with the science of silencers. Hydrodynamics, CNC machines, CAD works, various metals, and fluidynamics.. all very interesting. So my friends and I been filing Form-1s with ATF and have been building various suppressors. This is my most recent build: I call it the "FART GUN". Silent, but Deadly...




It started out as a Ruger MKII 5" tapered barrel. It's now a 6" integrally suppressed pistol with target sights, adjustable rear sights and scope base. CRAZY quiet. Pictures are worth a 1000 words, so Enjoy...

did the holes in the barrel mess with the rifling at all? any impact on accuracy?

that is amazing. Im debating if i want to try my hand at a .22 suppressor. I dont have access to a lathe though so the tube part id have to outsource. It would be a SS/ aluminum monocore

Start here. This company sells threaded tubes for "solvent traps". Their C-cell tubes are small so you can make a 22can pretty easily. The also sell endcaps and threaded caps. Their endcaps have no exit hole, so you can drill it to whatever diameter you need. A 22LR should be drilled with a 1/4" drill bit. I would go slightly larger so it will reduce the chance of the bullet strike.

Make sure you have an approved Form-1 before you start drilling, assembling, or all that stuff. If you go monocore, then all you need is a mill. If you are going with aluminum, you may be able to do it with a dremel. You can have a machine shop do some of your lathe work, as long as they don't complete it. YOU should be the one to drill the hole(s) where the bullet will pass through.

Well, I built another one. Design is top secret but some pics are quite telling. It's a 30cal can for 300 blackout to 300 Win Mag. Custom machined. Mostly titanium.
