ESAB, North America and LetzRoll Offroad Racing

MESA, AZ, JANUARY 24, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LetzRoll Offroad Racing proudly announces the addition of title sponsor ESAB, North America to the LetzRoll Offroad Racing family. ESAB is the world leader in welding and cutting, and is an international supplier of products, know-how, and services. LetzRoll Offroad Racing has cars in all three classes of the Ultra4 and Dirt Riot series, including the SW Dirt Riot points leader #4669 car, driven by Shawn Passmore and Jim Rosato. Andrew McLaughlin in the #4493 car, currently fourth in the SW Dirt Riot point standings, will be competing in the Ultra4 and Dirt Riot racing series.

“ESAB is a great quality product,” said Andrew McLaughlin, #4993 driver of record and owner of LetzRoll Offroad. “ESAB really tailors their product to the end user that wants high quality.”

With the addition of title sponsor ESAB, the #4493 LetzRoll Offroad Racing yellow and black car will be focused on the King of Hammers LCQ race in Johnson Valley on February 6th and competing in the King of the Hammers main race on February 10th, 2012. The #4493 is driven by LetzRoll Offroad owner Andrew McLaughlin with co-driver Matt Hinitt. The #4511 (driven by Alan Johnson with co-driver Geoff Larson) Pro/Mod class car and #4669 (driven by Shawn Passmore with co-driver Jim Rosato) Stock class car will be competing in the Smittybuilt Everyman Challenge at the King of the Hammers on Sunday, February 5th.

Founded in 1904 by the inventor of the covered welding electrode, ESAB is the world leader in welding and cutting and is an international supplier of products, know-how and services that none can match. ESAB's subsidiaries and distributors worldwide are ready to handle your requirements large and small alike. The ESAB brand is synonymous with integrity, progress and quality. Our mission is to provide our customers with the most cost-effective solutions for their welding and cutting applications. More about the #4493 Unlimited team: Since the age of 16, Andrew McLaughlin knew he was meant for wheeling. After serving in the military, Andrew turned his passion into a business. LetzRoll Offroad began in 2008, mainly offering internet sales of quality offroad parts (www.letzrolloffroad.com). With the support and encouragement of his wife plus a growing group of loyal customers requesting custom fabrication and installation, Andrew made the move into a full time custom shop and the rest has been history. Today LetzRoll Offroad has 3 full time employees (all active wheelers in their own right) who have been racing together for years in Jeepspeed events. The move to the Ultra4 and Dirt Riot series was a natural fit for their experience in both rocks and desert. Andrew lives in Mesa, AZ.

More about the #4511 Pro/Mod team: Team LetzRoll Offroad’s modified stock entry hails from Phoenix, AZ. Alan Johnson and Geoff “Rockslapper” Larson are true “Everymen” who work regular jobs during the week so they can build their rigs and crawl the Arizona desert on the weekend. With the support of HigherGround4x4.com this is Johnson and Larson’s first racing season and they are honored to be a part of LetzRoll Offroad Racing. Starting as a “40th birthday present” event (to race in the 2012 Smittybuilt Everyman Challenge), the adrenaline of racing and the relationships built while building the car have caused an addiction that can only be met by the Ultra4 and Dirt Riot racing season.

More about the #4669 Stock class team: Shawn Passmore has been a wheeler for the last 20 years, starting with a 1979 CJ5 then moving to a 98 TJ that has wheeled everything from back roads to 4.5 trails all over AZ. “My family enjoys the outdoors as much as I do and we have continued the long standing traditions that I was raised with such as tread lightly and respect the land/other users just like they were family. I was born is AZ and have raised my child here because of the many opportunities to ‘get away from it all’ that we enjoy so much.” Co-Driver Jim Rosato has been an Automotive Technician for 10 years, and has been the chief designer for the electrical and engine management systems on both the #4669 and #4493 cars. Outside of vehicle design and fabrication, Jim has served in the US Army Reserves as a Wheeled Vehicle mechanic since 2001. Jim served in Iraq from 2003 – 2004 as a mechanic and as the companies MK19 grenade launcher gunner. Both Shawn and Jim reside in Mesa, AZ.

Sponsors: ESAB North America, Goodyear tires, PSC Steering, LetzRoll Offroad, Yukon Gear and Axle, and Radflo Suspension Technologies.
