on a related note, I downloaded the trail videos and made a DVD so I can watch it on the big TV. In the process, I discovered a great trick for downloading YouTube video.
1. Bring up the video in YouTube.
2. Type "save" in front of the address in your address bar just after the www. and just before the youtube.com. Example: www.saveyoutube.com/watch?feature=player_blah blah blah whatever whatever...
3. It takes you to a screen (and you may need to approve the software that runs) that allows you to choose your format and your quality.
4. Click the format and quality you want and it downloads it to your computer super fast.
I downloaded the King of the Hammers Trailer #2 in about 3 minutes (fast internet connection at work, though) and I have a great quality .mp4 file sitting on my desk top right now.
Yeah!

These two videos are tests for Colorado.
This first one is "Rearview" and tests the concept of having a rear facing camera and a front view and creating a "driver's experience" in the trial vids. Now, I didn't have a rear facing camera on any previous trips, so both videos are forward facing, but you'll get the point.
This second test "Splitview" is also a learning experience, but the video Chris posted that one the film contest showing two split screens inspired me. I was again using test footage that wasn't specifically set up for this type of project (i.e point of reference identical in both), but it was a learning experience for how I want to film in CO to be able to do something like this.
The graphics are cheesy (again, just a test vid so take it as it is), but this is a split view of some Sunflower Vid and some Die Hard vid. If I have the setup specific for this, I think we can create something really special coming out of Colorado. This test will at least give you the idea I'm working over...
